January 5: Don't Kid Yourself


Less than a week into 2008 and already it's clear that your New Year's resolutions were lies—again. That doesn't make you a bad person. Just a weak person. Maybe it's time to stop fooling yourself and let someone else do it for you. These four talented people are betting that you're just as gullible as you were last year.

Peter Lubell has written, produced and directed for many television networks, and for National Public Radio. He's covered film festivals in print, worked as a jazz DJ in radio and told his stories onstage at The Moth storytelling series and Speakeasy Stories.

Ophira Eisenberg has appeared on Comedy Central, VH-1, The E! Channel, Oxygen, and The Discovery Channel. She is a regular at stand-up clubs around New York and has performed stories on the Moth Mainstage. She is also a contributing writer to US Weekly's Fashion Police and is currently appearing in the off-Broadway show Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad. www.OphiraEisenberg.com

James Braly has performed his stories on NPR and on the Moth National Story Tour. His monologue (and forthcoming book from Algonquin), Life in a Marital Institution, directed by Hal Brooks, was called "a masterpiece of storytelling" (The List) at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe.
